"Through My Window," Underdogs, Lisbon, Portugal
March 28 - April 19, 2025
Through My Window, JR’s first-ever exhibition in Portugal, featured 36 limited edition lithographs revisiting some of his most well-known projects worldwide.
The archive collection documented two decades of JR’s large-scale installations, engaging communities and challenging passersby to question what they see. Archives from Women Are Heroes, The Wrinkles of the City, Trompe l'oeil, and Giants were among the many on view. Displayed across a large-scale world map, each archive marked the location of the intervention. Visitors could listen to the stories behind each piece through audio testimonies by JR.
To celebrate the exhibition’s opening on March 28th, the Inside Out Photo Booth Truck appeared outside Underdogs Gallery to welcome locals and visitors into the world of JR’s work. Anyone passing by could join the line to have their portrait taken and printed instantly, contributing to a community-wide documentation of Lisbon through its people.
