LAS CRÓNICAS DE CUBA

In December 2019, JR took on a new challenge: capturing the richness and diversity of an entire country.

Together with his team, he traveled across Cuba for 20 days, visiting 12 cities, including Havana, Cienfuegos, Trinidad, and Pinar del Río. A photo studio was set up right on the sidewalks, where the team photographed and recorded the stories of 845 Cuban men and women, with the ambition of telling the story of the island through a collaborative artwork.

Completed right before the Covid-19 pandemic, the monumental fresco is presented to the public for the first time in 2026 at Gare du Nord in Paris.
