JR X Roland Garros

Every year since 1980, the FFT has invited an artist to create the official poster for the Roland-Garros tournament. In 2026, the project was entrusted to JR.

As part of his research, JR attended the 2025 tournament, immersing himself in the world of Roland Garros. Among everything he observed, one ritual stood out: the spreading of clay before a match. Typically out of sight, before the cameras turn on and the crowds arrive, this graphic and ceremonial action inspired JR's creation of the official poster for 2026. Merging the clay with the eye, a symbol he is best known for, JR brought together the texture of the court and his signature visual language.

"I like using all types of materials, but something like clay — textured yet fragile — will never be the same before or after. It's a surface in constant motion."

The poster will lead the visual story of the 2026 tournament from May 18 - June 7, 2026.
